Artists in Residency

"I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't say any other way — things I had no words for." - Georgia O'Keeffe

If Mahogany is the heart, the artists behind GiftyWrap are soul of the company. Without them, the GiftyWrap vision would not come to life. Gifting is about reminding people how you feel, and the artwork these artists create pieces that express emotion through shapes, colors, words and soul. Presenting — Our artists in residence — Artists whose artwork is currently available. See below GiftyWrap artists for those who have contributed to previous designs, or are working on future designs.

  • Miriam Trius is a painter and illustrator living just outside of the Jewish neighborhood in S. Minneapolis with her husband and three kids, cat, and dog. Inspired heavily by Eastern European Jewish culture and incorporating many Yiddish themes and symbols, both rooted in tradition and utilizing modern colors and patterns, Miriam's art explores whet 21st century Yiddish art could look like if there were a continuous, uninterrupted canon of works from the 1930s until now (would would Yiddish art be like if it weren't for genocide and assimilation?) In her free time she also plays klezmer violin, studies and writes philosophy, goes roller skating with her kids, and enjoys cooking and baking from scratch.

This drove her to make cards that are for everyone. D. Johnson & Co Greetings has become her calm and center in the midst of this storm (during the pandemic) because she gets to be creative, share her gifts, and give a little love & kindness in every card she makes.
